Conversations
Start safe, meaningful conversations
Write a grounded opening, set boundaries, and recognize warning signs.
Applies to the current ConnectReal experience
A strong first message
- 1Name the specific interest or context you share.
- 2Explain why you are reaching out in one or two sentences.
- 3Ask a small question that is easy to decline or answer.
- 4Avoid demanding immediate contact details, a call, or a large commitment.
Build trust gradually
- Keep early conversation in the product.
- Let both people control pace and channel.
- Confirm before sharing someone else's words or identity.
- Use a small collaborative action before committing to a larger project.
Warning signs
- Pressure to move off-platform immediately.
- Requests for money, codes, credentials, documents, or intimate material.
- Inconsistent identity or claims that cannot be checked.
- Repeated contact after you have said no.
End or report
You do not need to justify ending a conversation. Use block or report controls when available and retain only the evidence needed for a safety report. If you are in immediate danger, contact the appropriate local emergency service rather than waiting for platform support.
